The Japanese Government Will Introduce Electronic Visas For Tourists

The Japanese government will introduce an electronic system to apply for a tourist visa in April 2020, Kyodo News reports. The electronic visa is designed to simplify the application process, reduce the burden on diplomatic missions and tighten immigration controls. At first, the online system will be available only when issuing single-entry visas to Chinese tourists, and then to travelers from other countries.
