Bright, cavernous and promising shopping for all, the Nicosia Mall will open its doors to the public on Wednesday morning with more retail space than any other shopping centre on the island.
Located on the outskirts of Nicosia, with new roads also set to open on Wednesday morning, the new location has 140 shops over 48,000m² of retail space and aims to compete with other international shopping destinations under the slogan Made Incredible.
Designed to lead shoppers around it much like a river, the new mall includes many of the island’s favourite stores in addition to new brands including Under Armour, Vans, Get Out, Clavin Klein jeans, Jo Malone and more. Other new concepts include a restaurant that is not casual dining and for the island’s capital a food court with the choice to sit outside.
The balcony overlooks the highway to the mountains and the west of Nicosia. In keeping with other malls, it is not just about the shopping although the Rio cinema – which began in 1964 as a summer cinema in ¬ will not open until February.
Big is not just a concept for the mall itself; it will include the biggest Starbucks in Cyprus, the biggest Public in Cyprus and an Athienitis supermarket – due to open in the next few days – that is bigger than the current store in Pallouriotissa.
Parking for 1,700 cars will be mostly underground with LED lights showing where there are empty spaces. For those with young adults, the mall is keen to stress that discussions with bus company OSEL will soon see some routes headed there.
