The Ayia Thekla Beach is located 6.5 kilometers west of the centre of Ayia Napa and it is a very beautiful beach.
It is a natural sandy beach on a bedrock covered with thin golden sand, while its waves are of low-intensity. This beach took its name from an old chapel in the area. It is a beautiful coastal strip within the protected zone of the NATURA 2000 network.
Also, a walkway has been created to allow visitors to take a carefree walk from the beach to the picturesque fishing harbor of the Liopetri River or to Vathia Gonia Beach, depending on the direction you will take.
Near the beach of Ayia Thekla there is a grocery store, while the surrounding area has a variety of restaurants and kiosks.
During the summer months there are lifeguards with lifeguard equipment and first aid services. Ayia Thekla beach also provides a special disability chair in the lifeguard unit to help people with disabilities enter the sea without help of lifeguards.
All of the Ayia Napa beaches have been awarded with the Blue Flag award, for their high level of cleanliness and the excellent facilities which are offered according to standards by the European Union.
