Cyprus - Said to be the Island of Love and golden beaches

Cyprus has the kind of setting that location scouts dream of. Cyprus is the third largest island laid out to be a bi-cultural landscape hidden away in the Mediterranean Sea and is a place which has a large variety of blue flag awarded beaches, ancient sights, and bars and restaurants. Birthplace of Aphrodite and crossroads between three continents, Cyprus has seduced and inspired generations of travellers for hundreds of years. Stunning landscapes are everywhere you turn; the pine forested Troodos mountain range stretches across most of the western side of the island, where churches precariously perch on mountain peaks and picturesque hamlets cling to terraced hill slopes. The island enjoys abundant sunshine, and even in December and January, there is an average of six hours of bright sunshine per day it is the one of the best destination in Europe all year round.

Protaras

The cosmopolitan resort of Protaras has become a European holiday hot-spot in recent years. Situated on the south-east coast of Cyprus, the resort stretches for over 10 kilometres, from the high cliffs of the Cape Greco national park to the hidden sandy coves of Paralimni.Known as ?the land of windmills? Protaras maintains the nostalgic quality of its past through its original windmills and Venetian architecture, whilst offering every amenity. In the hot months of July, the Paralimni Municipality organises the Paralimni Cultural Festival. This festival is dedicated to the cultural heritage of Paralimni that is renowned for its folk poets and strong traditions. Events take place in Paralimni and Protaras, with the programme of the event including traditional dances, music performances and story telling. Protaras has easy access to the towns of Paralimni and Deryneia, and the resorts of Kapparis, Pernera and Ayia Napa. Although Protaras has supermarkets, restaurants and bars, we feel that a car is really essential for maximum pleasure.
