This city deserved such glory only because of one sight. The ancient bridge over the river Neretva was built in the 16th century and was part of many trade routes. The significance of this bridge for the local economy was so great that this bridge was constantly guarded by bridge caretakers. Around this bridge there are many restaurants and souvenir shops. And every year in the last days of July there is a festival of jumping from the bridge. This festival is so popular that it is broadcasted by the state channels of even neighboring countries.
