The jury noted Almeria for its fruits and vegetables, as well as for the combination of seafood and land in the local cuisine. Guests of this Andalusian province are advised to definitely try dried octopus, red shrimps from the town of Garrucha, as well as local versions of the dishes “gurulhos” and “migas”.

Until the end of 2018, the title of the gastronomic capital of Spain will be the city of Leon.
