Who does not know Platres? Platres know everyone :)

There are 3 main versions, as appeared the name of the Platres:

1."Platra" and its plural meaning "Platres" comes from the word "platra" (pratria). This ancient Greek word means a woman who is engaged in the production and sale of fabrics. This fishery was very popular in the countryside.

2. In French, the word "plâtres" means white plaster. During the Frankish rule (1192-1489) on the south side of Troodos there was a monastery, exactly in the place where the village of Platres is now located. The monks were called "Plâtres" because of their white clothes.

3.The third version is the most prosaic. The name comes from the dialect Cypriot word "platsa", meaning an open space or square, which then became Platra and eventually Platres.

What do you think, which version of the village name is more correct?
